What is LPWAN

LPWAN (Low-power Wide-area Network) is a type of wireless telecommunication wide area network designed to allow long range communications at a low bit rate among things (connected objects).

This makes LPWANs an ideal type of network for expansive IoT projects that cover a wide area (from 1 to 40 km), such as Smart Grids, Smart City or infrastructure applications, agricultural management, work site monitoring, asset tracking and environmental sensing.
In such IoT projects thousands of sensors are often dispatched across a large geographic area, all of which infrequently send small data packets.

NB-Fi is an LPWAN-class wireless communication technology which provides long range bidirectional communication between devices for IoT/IIoT applications, both in remote areas and in dense urban environments.
